2018 ACTS Homeowner of the Year

The Correa family took on the rehab of their home on Milwaukee’s South Side with optimism, according to their daughter Mayra.

“When we first moved into the house it was a complete mess,” she said. “It looked like on the last day, when they had to move out of the house, they had a party.”

They had a big job ahead of them.  The repairs were many: fixing walls and pulling up the floors.

It took some extended family to get the job done.

But they stayed the course and completed their rehab projects in just a few months. Mayra says her parents did A-plus work.

“It looks completely different,” she said.  “It feels good to live in the house my parents remodeled.”

Mayra says seeing the house before an ACTS rehab makes her grateful. She is looking forward to the flowers most of all.
