Homebuyer Coaching

Acts Housing provides one-on-one, Certified Homebuyer Coaching for individuals interested in purchasing a home for owner-occupancy. We also offer in-person coaching options for individuals who wish to achieve their First-time Homebuyer Certification more quickly.

What To Expect

Step
1

Sign Up for Virtual Orientation

Acts Virtual Homebuyer Orientation is the first step in the process. At orientation, you will learn much more about how the program works, timelines, etc. You will also have the chance to pay for your credit report; $38.00 for a single person or $75.00 per household (2 people). Paying for your credit report is your official “enrollment” in the program.

Step
2

Attend your first coaching session with your Homebuyer Coach

Your first session with your Homebuyer Coach will consist of a full assessment of your finances. To do this, you will need to upload or bring documents listed on Acts’ Document Checklist for discussion with your coach. From there, your coach will assess your readiness to purchase, and if needed, develop and work with you on a Financial Action Plan.

Step
3

Look for Your Home

Once you have completed your work with your Homebuyer Coach, you will receive your certificate of completion and can move on to the real estate department to find your home.
