Online Homebuyer Counseling
HUD-approved Online Homebuyer Counseling is the fastest way to receive your First-time Homebuyer Certification.
Is Online Counseling the right choice for me?
- Have you already been pre-approved through your traditional lender (bank or credit union)?
- Are you comfortable working at your own pace?
- Are you looking to get your First-Time Homebuyer Certification as quickly as possible?
If YES, then Online Counseling may be the best option for you!
How It Works
Step 1: Register for Online Counseling Courses with Acts Housing through eHomeAmerica
In partnership with eHomeAmerica, we are able to offer HUD-approved Homebuyer Counseling online. The online program costs $99, which will be due when you register.
Step 2: Complete The Courses Online
Take the online courses at your own pace. Course topics include: Tenancy, Fair Housing, Affordability, Financial Management, Avoiding Foreclosure, and Post-purchase
Step 3: Receive Your First-Time Homebuyer Certificate
Once you have completed your courses online, you’ll be prompted to reach out to an Acts Housing Counselor to schedule a final 1-hour counseling session, either in-person or by phone. Once completed, you’ll be issued your First-time Homebuyer Certificate. You can pick it up at one of our offices, or we can mail it to you.
To all Acts homebuyers and families: we urge you to take caution when sharing your personal information. There are many home-buying scams out there! An Acts Housing team member will never ask you to send in money prior to completing our homebuyer program (with the exception of paying for your credit report). If you receive a text, call, or email stating that you’ve been pre-approved for a loan, or that you need to make a down-payment prior to completing Acts’ program, please do not send money or documents!
Your Acts Housing team will have name@actshousing.org email addresses. If you’re ever uncertain about a request, please verify that it’s coming from an Acts team member by calling our main office at 414-933-2215.
We’re here to help protect your privacy and security!

eHome America Homebuyer Education is not a requirement for purchase. However, it will enable you to make more informative decisions when it comes to the home buying process.
The coursework can be challenging, time consuming and slow going at times. If you are not comfortable moving along at your own pace, please consider one of the other counseling options. The coursework is broken down into four modules. After reviewing each module, you must answer a series of questions, which ensures you understand the material presented before proceeding to the next module.
If you have any problems moving through the modules, the Acts Housing counseling team is available at 414-727-0015 to assist you.
