Why does Acts Homes need contracting partners? 

With plans and funding to acquire and rehab 40+ homes per year, Acts Homes is searching for all types of contracting partners with all kinds of skills. Acts Homes was established in 2022 to compete with out-of-state investors to purchase residential housing inventory and bring it back to owner-occupancy across the community. 

Acts Homes will purchase, rehab, and sell properties to families with low-to-moderate income (LMI) who have received HUD-certified homebuyer coaching. 

Who are Acts Homes contracting partners? 

Acts Homes acquires properties in a variety of conditions. Some only need a light cosmetic refresh, and others require a full remodel. This is why Acts Homes is building a contracting partner list to support the work. We’re looking for: 

• General Contractors (full project remodels)
• Odd-jobs experts (replacing window panes, installing doorknobs, etc)
• Clean-out/Junk removal 
• Demolition
• Carpentry
• Electrical
• Plumbing
• HVAC
• Foundations
• Roofing
• Landscaping
• Painting
• Insulation
• Drywall
• Windows/Doors
• Rough carpentry
• Siding installation
• Flooring
• Environmental remediation (lead, asbestos, mold, biohazards)

All contractors must be insured and bonded (or licensed, as applicable), and licensed to pull permits when required. We’re especially interested in partnering with those who are City of Milwaukee Certified contractors, and/or certified Women-owned, Minority-owned, or Veteran-owned businesses.

If you’re interested, we’ll add you to our Acts Lending contractor list, which is shared with families who’ve gone through the Acts Housing program and who are rehabbing homes themselves.
